Partners with Signature Health Alliance, Inc. in an Effort to Provide Statewide Healthcare Coverage to Area Employees January 2005 - KNOXVILLE , Tenn - The Initial Group, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Baptist Health System of East Tennessee, and Signature Health Alliance Inc., a well established Tennessee based Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), signed a reciprocal agreement for network access effective January 1, 2005 in an effort to better serve employees throughout Tennessee. "The Initial Group's joint partnership with Signature will provide employers and employees with the option of selecting statewide in-network coverage depending upon their healthcare needs,&qout; said Cheryl Wilburn, Initial Group Executive Director. "The Initial Group's network of physicians and facilities stretches throughout East Tennessee but does not cover the entire state. The reciprocal agreement allows area employees to access Signature's healthcare network in Middle and West Tennessee offering statewide coverage.&qout; The Initial Group currently has over 5,000 physicians and 68 facilities, providing healthcare products and services to over 100,000 lives in the East Tennessee region. Baptist Health System and its affiliates, University of Tennessee Medical Center and East Tennessee Children's Hospital are a few of the many choices available to employees through The Initial Group. In addition, participating employers can offer their employees access to Signature's 8,100 medical and healthcare professionals and over 65 hospitals.
