![]() Knoxville, Tennessee - July 1, 2002 - Mark Field, Vice President of Business Development along with 16 other new members have been elected to the Board of Directors of the Knoxville Area Chamber Partnership and several committee chairs and leadership roles have brought new business perspective to manage key initiatives. "We have always understood our mission and our purpose. But as we have become a stronger organization, it is clear that we must look ahead and determine where we want to be in five years and how we can get there," said Raja Jubran, chair of the Partnership Board of Directors. Jubran said he is proud of the Board, citing members' diversity, skills and insights. More than 80 nominations were considered for 17 slots. Members will serve a three-year term. This year will be Jubran's second year in a two-year chairman's term. Bruce Hartmann, publisher of the Knoxville News-Sentinel, will serve as chair-elect. Gregg Woodall, president of PrSM Corporation, will become Treasurer and Saadia Williams, executive director of Project Change will become Secretary. Attorney Steve Roth will serve another year as parliamentarian. Juanita Cannon, retired principal of the Transition School, will chair the Education Committee, Randy Massey, CEO of Massey Electric Company Inc., will chair the Government Relations Committee and Paul Fortunato, plant manager of Rohm & Haas Co., will chair the Economic Development Committee. Wes Stowers, president of Stowers Machinery Corporation, will continue as chair of the Transportation Committee and Mark Field, vice president of business development for The Initial Group, Inc. will chair the Marketing Committee. Dee Anderson, vice president of Willis of Knoxville, will chair the Membership Committee. New members include: - Wayne Blasius, president of InSite Property Associates and chair of the Central Business Improvement District - David Duncan, owner of The Jockey Club and chair of the Knoxville Tourist Commission - Lou Moran, vice president of Inter-Agency Insurance - Bob Slack, president of Creative Structures, Inc. - John Valliant, attorney and partner with Valliant and Harrison Mak Field has been with The Initial Group seven years and also serves as the chairman of the Knox County Parks & Recreation Advisory Board. - END -
